NOTES TO CAMPERS - PLEASE READ!
We are STOKED for our FIFTH year of Bighorn Gravel! We can’t wait to get this party started and love that you will be camping with us this year.
We are thrilled to be able to offer on site camping for our event. 100% of your $10 camping fee that you paid at registration is donated to our local 4H club, thank you for making a difference in our community :-) :-). :-)
Our presenting sponsor, The Town of Gypsum, makes a special exception for our event to have camping inside the town limits. We ask that you please, pha - leeze follow these guidelines so we can accommodate all of you this year, as well as in the years to come.
Each rig is allowed 2 parking spots. One for the van/rig and one for your awning, chairs, etc. This is the part where we need your help. Let’s park in a mindful, conscious order so we can fit everyone in comfortably.
TENTS please proceed to the far end of the parking lot. Set your tent up on the grass just outside the field. DO NOT CAMP ON THE FIELD! You can park your car at the end of the lot right near your tent.
VANS please proceed to the far end of the parking lot, near the port-a potties. Take the last spot for your van, use the next spot for your chairs, etc. Next van please use the next two spots. Right now we have plenty of space for everyone but please be mindful not to leave extra spots between vans so that we are sure to have enough space. Thank you-
For rigs longer than 25 feet - please park at Eagle Valley High School. All racer parking is also at the High School lot. It is next door to the venue and is a 3 minute walk or 2 minute bike ride to the start/finish and expo.
LARGER RIGS - In order to keep parking accessible for race day, please use the far east end for camping and leave the rest of the lot open for general parking. We will have signs for you! But basically, use the back of the lot.
You are welcome to camp Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please do not arrive and camp before Friday and please do not stay longer than Monday morning.
Both lots are within easy walking/riding distance to the expo, start/finish, porta potties and the rec center. Porta potties and hand washing stations will be located at each camp site, as well as inside the expo area. Please help us keep them clean and tidy! And, we will need to stay strict on the 2 spaces per rig. Do not get comfortable on more than your 2 parking spaces.
If you would like more privacy and serene surroundings, the Town of Gypsum recommends BLM land along the Eagle River. Also check out Riverdance RV Park and use code BIG10 for 10% off.
The Gypsum Rec Center is open for full access, including additional bathrooms and showers. Cost of a day pass is $13 for adults, $7 for kids and $35 for families.. Rec Center hours are Friday until 9pm, Saturday 9-7 and Sunday 10-4.
If you have any questions, please come to the Expo area and one of our volunteers will help guide you to your spot. You can also call LINDA at 970-401-4010 to clarify where exactly to camp. I will be moving around a lot so please be patient if I don't pick up right away.
DOGS: Town of Gypsum does not allow dogs in any town parks like the expo area, start / finish line area or ball fields. We have stated this is a no dog event for those reasons. If you do need to bring your dogs, please know that it is going to be VERY HOT. Keep them on leash at all times and please do not enter the venue or town parks/fields with them. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We are so grateful to our sponsor the Town of Gypsum and really want to keep the race and camping going for years to come!
See you all very soon!
