BIGHORN ROAD
Preview Rides
SATURDAY, AUGUST 8
9:00AM
We’ll be rolling from the Dotsero Truck Parking lot and previewing a portion of the dirt section on the Colorado River Road.
We’ll cover approximately 45 miles with just over 2,000 feet of climbing, giving riders a chance to experience the terrain, dial in equipment choices, and get familiar with the course before event day.
This is a casual, no-drop ride with opportunities to regroup along the way. We will have an Aid Station tent at the turnaround with additional nutrition. Whether you’ve already registered or still considering Bighorn Road, we’d love to have you join us.

“As an ex-Coloradan, this is one of the most beautiful rides that I’ve ever done!”
– Bobby Julich (Former Pro Cyclist, Olympic Medalist)
“More wildlife than cars.”
Bighorn Road will capture all of the best elements of classic fondo events, with our usual adventurous twists: our 80-mile “Stone Sheep” course features 5,000 feet of climbing along the Colorado and Eagle Rivers, plus a 20-mile section of hardpacked dirt to keep things western. It’s the perfect long ride for a modern road bike, covering cell-signal-free country with the security of aid stations and police traffic control. The shorter “Dall Sheep” course is an out and back of 31 miles, with a few punchy climbs and 100% tarmac goodness. While short on distance, this course is still huge on views and excellent, twisting, roads.
